Is a Fishing ban next?

I don’t fish, but this is disturbing.

“When the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) completed their successful campaign to convince the Ontario government to end one of the best scientifically managed big game hunts in North America (spring bear), the results of their agenda had severe economic impacts on small family businesses and the tourism economy of communities across northern and central Ontario,” said Phil Morlock, director of environmental affairs for Shimano.

“Now we see NOAA (National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration) and the administration planning the future of recreational fishing access in America based on a similar agenda of these same groups and other Big Green anti-use organizations, through an Executive Order by the President. The current U.S. direction with fishing is a direct parallel to what happened in Canada with hunting: The negative economic impacts on hard working American families and small businesses are being ignored.

“In spite of what we hear daily in the press about the President’s concern for jobs and the economy and contrary to what he stated in the June order creating this process, we have seen no evidence from NOAA or the task force that recreational fishing and related jobs are receiving any priority.”

As ESPN previously reported, WWF, Greenpeace, Defenders of Wildlife, Pew Environment Group and others produced a document entitled “Transition Green” shortly after Obama was elected in 2008. What has happened since suggests that the task force has been in lockstep with that position paper.

It’s really no surprise that the Obama administration is going lockstep with the Green lobby. Green isn’t the newest liberal fad, but as we see with the AGW crowd, it instills quite a quasi-religious following.

It’s actually a very good plan from the green liberal lobby. While everyone is distracted with Obamacare, while the administration drags it’s feet on it’s Climate Bill, Card Check Bill and DADT order, they can rush through these small pieces of green fascism right under everyone’s nose.

It’s not the big leap to socialism that is the problem, it’s the baby steps that happen so slowly over time that one day you wake up and BAM, your freedoms are gone!

So let’s have a recap.

  • Ban smoking. Working on it
  • Ban “bad” food:
  • Ban Soda. Check
  • Ban Fats. Working on it
  • Ban Meat. Working on it
  • Ban automobiles. stalled for now
  • Ban the color black. Working on cars right now…initial stages.
  • Ban personal watercraft. Working on it
  • Ban Guns. Hitting Constitutional snag, but don’t worry this will never go away until we are like Britain.
  • Ban Free Speech if you speak out against what the Greens want to do. Hopefully never.

Here’s what they have done in New Zealand. How far off are we, here in the US?

What’s the common theme, taking away your liberties. As much as we may not agree with the lifestyle choice others make, it’s non of anyone’s business how people live their lives.

The kind of man who demands that government enforce his ideas is always the kind whose ideas are idiotic.

I’m right in the middle of fishing territory. This is about people’s livlihoods, it’s about feeding their families. Gov never gets this. It’s like our local county trying to ban backyard chicken coops. People around here don’t raise chickens for fun, simply because they want to drive down property values, they do it to survive. The sheer number of people raising chickens and planting gardens in their yards is a symptom of Obamanomics.

It’s not that the government doesn’t care, they do, they want the tax revenue. It’s about what the special interests that donate to the particular politician’s campaign. I’d give Obama the benefit of the doubt on this one, he is just doing what his donors want him to do, the Green Lobby.
