Liberals at Macy’s

So yesterday, me and the wife were at the Carousel Mall in Macy’s. A woman came up started talking, and being the nice people we are, we talked back. The conversation was good up till the woman asked what I did for a living. After I said a Chemist, it went straight down hill.

The woman proceeded to tell us that her husband dropped out of a PHD program because he didn’t want to work for an evil corporation. In her words big companies have no “soul.” She specifically mentioned Monsanto as a company with no soul. I held my tongue, basically just said that that what ever they do is their choice and left it at that.

What gets me was how hard she was trying to convince that Monsanto was evil, maybe it was because I said I like Monsanto. I have no problems with them. But to the eat local/organic crowd, they are the big big bad.

Of course I found it doubly ironic that this liberal that hates big corporations was shopping at Macy’s.

Remember kids, no matter what a liberal thinks is bad, it’s only bad as long as it doesn’t inconvenience them.

I wonder what she would think of a rat-bastard like Norman Borlaug.

Those damned chemists, with their dangerous bio-engineering…

Who knows. I just think it’s funny that a self proclaimed liberal that thinks corporations are evil, would be shopping at Macy’s. It’s like a PETA shopping at a butcher shop.
